Dear Friends and Supporters,

I hope you are all well.

This time, my silence wasn’t due to the legal pressure and resulting bitterness, nor my consistent lack of initiating profitable trading, which both caused and continues to cause deep emotional pain. The reason might sound unbelievable, but it’s true: we had no internet and phone service at home for ten days.

On Saturday morning, May 4th, Yuri’s birthday, we were “presented with” a gift – our internet cable was cut. This was followed by an unbelievable resistance from the service company to repair the damage “promptly” or “no later than 48 hours.” On May 9th, 2024, I reached out to one of the technical directors. The next day, when we finally saw the truck arrive and reconnect the cable, we thought it was over. Unfortunately, they only tightened the cable to the poll without connecting it to the signal-issuing unit.

I’m unsure how long this would have gone on without the lucky intervention of another team in our area.

All this to say, if it was truly intentional, we are waiting to hear from the highly respected manager, for clarification on what happened. If not intentional, then as all our new friends suspect, this was deliberate and makes us wonder once again about the fear our pleadings must create in our adversaries, resorting to such far-reaching and low methods: eviction with violence without the leave of the court, stealing our belongings, reportedly misrepresenting us as a litigious party (no court has ever blamed us, except for a Privy Council clerk’s letter bringing Lord Sales’ words on February 16th, 2024, which we believe to be a clerical mistake and not proper paperwork).

On the other hand, it was a kind of blessing to be forced to disconnect. We did more reading, reflecting, and remembering how things were before the internet consumed so much of our time. There are certainly advantages to our current access to knowledge, verified information, and truthful statements. However, we are also losing those precious moments of human interaction, quiet hours spent with books, or simply observing the sky, as Isaac Asimov observed:

“The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.”

I hope that humanity, as always, will find the balance. In parallel, of course, we hope and trust that justice will prevail in our cases, where we are sure of a successful outcome.
