Remembering Aunty Duda: A Beacon of Love and Resilience

I can’t believe …..

My dear Friends and Supporters,

With a heavy heart, I share yet another heartbreaking loss—we are missing and mourning the departure of Mrs. Rosaline Johnson, known as Aunty Duda.

Her blessings and light shine upon us.

I had the privilege of meeting her and having long, deep conversations. A woman of amazing faith—praying with her was truly moving the walls, touching the Infinity.

At 91 years old, she would walk faster than many young people, emanating the energy of Life’s zest. She would always smile, sharing her wisdom, kindness, and warmth.

For some time, we met every week to visit a dear family member who couldn’t walk… and those Saturdays were filled with such Light. When she learned that my sons were still at home with me, and about our legal fight-struggle, she would bring little treats to send for them. At her age, she was a real fairy, living in a body.

She survived the tragedy of losing her son, only 13 years old, to never-found murderers.

Perhaps my experience of a car accident and 21 days in a coma made this door of connection with the Infinity open and known to both of us…

We had set up a plan for a long conversation… but it didn’t happen. Life… Unfortunately, I was not informed when she was admitted to the hospital after her stroke and remained there for her last five days. It seems the intention was to shield me from the news, given all that we are already facing, though I now see it only deepens the wound.

Aunty Duda, as she allowed me to call her, as all her nephews did, is so deeply missed… I can’t imagine how her children are coping with this loss. The kind daughter Valarie, who would always bring her and drive her around, and the one on a family island, where she went to attend her birthday… All of them must be feeling such pain.

And if you’ve not yet fallen in love with the Bahamas, with its genuine people, and a Dreamlife, you certainly would after meeting Aunty Duda.

Our condolences to her daughters, nephews, the whole family, and friends.

My dear friends, just remember—life is so unpredictable.

Please, pray for Mrs. Roslaine Johnson, that her light spirit may rest in peace.

Take every day as priceless, every moment as a chance to say a good word to your loved ones, your friends, and your family.

Be well and safe,

Irina
