May we all pray for peace in these dangerous days.

Only two weeks ago, on Sunday, 15 February 2026, our son Teo miraculously survived after international students were violently shot during the Barranquilla Carnival — the second largest carnival in the world. I wrote about it earlier and will insert the link here.

His friend, a French boy of only 20, is still on his way to recovery. Our prayers and thoughts are with this friend and his family.

Teo’s healing, the delicate extraction of the bullet, the exceptional work of the Colombian doctors, and the unseen support of so many people coincided with the 8th anniversary of our eviction, I wrote in this article. Life carries both pain and miracles at the same time.

And today marks another important step.

A brilliant article by the journalist, author, activist Jaap van der Doelen has just been published in Brabants Dagblad, founded in 1771, about our son Giovanni — about his suffering under the cruel pressure exerted by UBS against our family, and about his remarkable recovery thanks to the people of the Netherlands, its system, the doctors in Leiden, and in the province of North Brabant, and their extraordinary support.

Dear Jaap — thank you. Your article reads like a book. As your books, which world should read and absorb – All I Know Is What I Do and Kill Your Masters, the book written about rap group Run The Jewels, coming out in 2024 through UGA Press.
