Today’s media coverage in the Financial Times “Tom Hayes says UBS’s ‘Project Chocolate’ probe shows he was targeted from the outset” made me reflect once again on the methods used by UBS against those who stand in its way. As I was reading about his case, I could not help but recognise many similarities with what our own family has experienced during the past seventeen years while trying to expose Fictitious Trading.

It is the same pattern of overwhelming pressure, isolation, exhaustion, and the use of immense financial and legal resources to discourage those seeking the truth. Yet we have never given up, and we never will. Our children’s childhood has already been stolen. My beloved mother has been in Heaven for eleven years. We continue to face serious illness in our family, while the court proceedings never pause.

And, for those of you who trade and invest, I cannot help but wonder what our markets might look like if Fictitious Trading were finally brought to an end. Would we still witness such large price gaps, even during periods of high liquidity? It is a question worth asking.

This is only a brief message to let you know that we will soon share further updates on our own case.

For today, however, I simply wish to send my best wishes to Tom Hayes and to every person around the world who continues to stand against corruption, injustice, and abuses of power. History repeatedly reminds us that meaningful change rarely begins with institutions. More often, it begins with ordinary people who refuse to surrender their conscience.
