I hope you have all enjoyed the weekend and are beginning the new week well — some already well into Monday, others still enjoying Sunday — as we remain united across the globe, from Sydney to San José.

An extraordinary and deeply symbolic moment unfolded while we ourselves were immersed in an unprecedented sequence of court hearings, conducted pro se, under intense pressure — a period I have described in detail here.

On 3 February 2026, a new hearing on UBS was held in the United States Senate, as I briefly mentioned in my previous article.

Before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator John Kennedy, joined by Senator Chuck Grassley, pressed the President of UBS on the bank’s historical assistance to the Nazi regime. Those ten minutes on this video or in the transcripts will remain in the public record as a triumph of truth, courage, and institutional accountability.

We are profoundly grateful to the United States Senate, to Senator Kennedy, Senator Grassley, and Senator Whitehouse, and to those who have insisted that history must be faced honestly — not managed, filtered, or silenced.

This hearing did not arise in a vacuum. In the Senate’s release of 3 February 2026, it is detailed that:

In March 2020, the Simon Wiesenthal Center informed Credit Suisse that it had uncovered information concerning the bank’s Nazi-era ties. Credit Suisse initially agreed to investigate and retained a forensic research firm, appointing former TARP Inspector General Neil Barofsky to oversee the review.

When the investigation began to uncover damaging information, Credit Suisse paused the review, restricted access to records, and terminated Mr. Barofsky — falsely citing “performance issues.” In reality, Mr. Barofsky had performed his duties with exemplary rigor.

In response, during the last Congress, then-Chairman Whitehouse and Senator Grassley issued the Senate Budget Committee’s first subpoena since 1991 to obtain and release Mr. Barofsky’s report, along with the forensic auditor’s findings. Those reports revealed that Credit Suisse had failed to review all relevant records, imposed excessive scope limitations, and — even within those limits — uncovered nearly 100 previously undisclosed Nazi-linked accounts, some remaining open until the 1990s and even as late as 2020.

When UBS acquired Credit Suisse, there was a moment of genuine hope. The investigation was revived, Mr. Barofsky was rehired, significant resources were committed, and archival and forensic research expanded worldwide.

But history, as Senator Grassley observed, has a way of repeating itself.

Once UBS became aware that this Committee might hold a public hearing, cooperation deteriorated. Records were withheld. Access was filtered. And troublingly, Gibson Dunn — the same firm representing UBS in legal action against the Simon Wiesenthal Center — became the gatekeeper of what Inspector General Barofsky could review.

Only days before the hearing, UBS sought court action in New York that would have limited the Wiesenthal Center’s voice and constrained Mr. Barofsky’s testimony — an effort that, if successful, would have frustrated the Senate’s public inquiry.

These actions do not diminish the truth. They underscore its importance.

This investigation has reaffirmed that Swiss banks were not neutral bystanders but active participants who escaped full accountability. It has revealed the forced transfer of Jewish assets, the maintenance of Nazi-linked accounts, and the facilitation of post-war escape networks — truths long buried, now returning to the light.

For those of us who have lived for years under legal pressure while pursuing accountability — including in exposing fictitious trading schemes that drain public revenues and erode trust — this Senate moment is not symbolic alone. It is a signal that truth, however delayed, can still prevail.

Simon Wiesenthal has always been our hero. His books are read in our family, across generations, and we are bound to his legacy. We wish the Simon Wiesenthal Center strength and success in its courageous battle against Goliath. The testimony of Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action
The Simon Wiesenthal Center stated:

“For too long, those who helped finance the Holocaust have
hidden the full scope of their role and the profits they obtained because those truths are
inconvenient at best and, at worst, expose the accumulation of wealth from the spoils of war.”

And UBS, with its absorbed Credit Suisse, was interrogated in this hearing.

May we address those powerful statements by Senator Chuck Grassley to be applied to our case:

“UBS’s conduct is absurd and a historic shame that’ll outlive today’s hearing.

Now, before UBS’s recent obstructive efforts, the investigation yielded new information.

UBS’s recent conduct impedes that effort and sabotages its own efforts to show accountability.

To UBS: I strongly urge you to find a way to make peace before it’s too late to repair the damage you’ve done.”

May justice finally reach UBS for all that has been uncovered.
May accountability replace obstruction.
And may systems built on deception — including fictitious trading — now be fully unveiled and brought to an end.
