I hope you are all doing well — as well as it is possible in these days filled with wars.

Yesterday, while we were all holding our breath, wondering whether it is the last day or only the beginning, something truly important happened.

UBS lost its bid to limit its exposure to new claims linked to Nazi-era wrongdoing.

As reported by Reuters, a United States judge refused to grant UBS the protection it sought from future lawsuits connected to newly uncovered evidence.

For us, this is not abstract.

It has now been 17 years since we were first harmed by Credit Suisse — a robbery — and 12 years within that time have been spent in continuous legal battle.
That long struggle has taken from our sons something that cannot be returned — their childhood.

Even with all these years, UBS continues to surprise me with ever lower depths: a lack of conscience, a lack of dignity. The same pattern: not responsibility, but attempts to limit, contain, and move past accountability.

In this recent case, the bank sought to extend the effect of the 1999 settlement in order to shield itself from claims based on newly uncovered facts — including evidence of additional Nazi-linked accounts identified through investigations conducted by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, lawyers of whom also stood against this new UBS’ attepmnt to escape.

U.S. District ​Judge Edward Korman in Brooklyn, New York,did not accept this approach.

Instead, it made clear that protections cannot be granted in advance for claims that have not yet been tested — and that new evidence cannot simply be absorbed into the past without scrutiny.

This matters.

It means that truth, once uncovered, cannot be quietly closed again.

It means that history is not sealed where injustice remains unanswered.

And it means that even the most powerful institutions are not beyond question. It is not abstract to us — UBS, after years of enjoying almost unlimited impunity, is now slowly coming under increasing scrutiny. This gives more hope that Fictitious Trading will be uncovered, and that our family will see justice in our own case.

For those of us who have lived through years of pressure, delay, and imbalance of power, this moment carries something more than legal significance.

It carries recognition.

It carries a sense — rare, but real — that persistence is not in vain.
